Steve Kimpton has a Masters Degree in Engineering, Economics and Management from Oxford University. His career as a consulting actuary took him from the UK to Canada and finally to the U.S. in 2005. In his role as a partner in one of the largest consulting firms in the world, Steve often advised his multinational clients on long term financial risk with respect to their employee benefits arrangements.
Not wanting to put his engineering talents to waste, Steve built his first sportscar after he left university and has spent his spare time restoring classic English roadsters over the years. When he retired from his consulting career Steve built a Lotus 7 style track car, which he can be seen throwing about on a regular basis.
Steve began on-track racing in 2005, taking his Lotus Elise to Lime Rock Park and Monticello Motor Club on the East
Coast. Understanding the value of professional coaching, through the years Steve has developed his driving skills to a high level and in May of 2017 he was one of only three US drivers to be invited to compete in the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb in Knysna, South Africa, one of the premier events on their annual motorsports calendar, driving a Saleen V8 Masters Mustang. He returned in 2018 and 2019, also wheeling a Lotus Europa in the accompanying classic car event.
Steve recently competed in his first endurance race, taking third place overall with his team in a BMW E36 that he had prepared for the event.
