
Tom O'Gorman's journey in motorsports began at a young age, sparked by his experiences watching races at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course with his father. His passion for racing led him to participate in SCCA Autocross competitions starting at age fifteen, marking the beginning of a remarkable career in motorsports.
After seven years of honing his skills in autocross, Tom transitioned to road racing in 2014. A successful crowdfunding campaign in 2015 enabled him to enter professional racing the following year, where he quickly made a name for himself as a talented driver.
From 2016 to 2019, Tom served as a factory driver for Honda, competing in prestigious events such as the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in TCR and the SRO America series (formerly Pirelli World Challenge). During this time, he achieved significant milestones, including winning SRO Driver's Championships in both 2016 and 2018, and earning the IMSA TCR Pole Award in 2018. His experience also included testing the Acura NSX GT3 EVO with Honda in 2019.
Throughout his career, Tom has amassed an impressive eight SCCA championships, further solidifying his reputation in the motorsports community. He was recognized as the SCCA Driver of the Year in 2013 and showcased his versatility by winning the coveted Tire Rack One Lap of America in 2021, 2022, and 2023. In 2022, he continued to excel by claiming the Gridlife Touring Cup Road Racing Championship, demonstrating his skill across different types of racing formats.
In addition to his competitive achievements, Tom has been actively involved in various roles within the automotive industry since 2014. He works as a professional driving coach, racing commentator, development driver, and brand ambassador, sharing his expertise and passion for racing with others. Currently, he races a Honda S2000 in the Gridlife Touring Cup, where he continues to showcase his talent and dedication to the sport.
