Mark Pombo grew up attending his father’s races and falling in love with motorsports. He began racing quarter midgets at the age of five and soon moved on to Legend Cars. Following in his brother’s footsteps, Mark made his way behind the wheel of a Spec Miata in SCCA regional and national events and experienced great success after serving in the military from 2002 to 2010, being deployed in Iraq in 2003 and 2004.
Mark’s driving talent earned him a ride in the Volkswagen TDI Cup series in 2008 and 2009, finishing in the top three in championship points each year, setting six fastest race laps out of 18 total races, including four poles and three wins. He also finished in the top five in 13 out of 18 events and was a featured driver in SPEED Channel's TDI Cup documentary.
